This document presents the privacy and security policies of the website of CORKBRICK EUROPE – ARQUITECTURA DE INTERIORES E EXTERIORES, LDA., with registered office at DNA Cascais - Rua Cruz da Popa, 2645-449 Alcabideche, Portugal, Corporate Tax Number 513223371, registered in the Commercial Registry under the number 513.223.371 (hereinafter, “CORKBRICK” and “Website”).
CORKBRICK’s privacy and security policies comply with the legislation in force on personal data, particularly Law No. 67/98, of 26 October, which transposed to the Portuguese law the Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 .


When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.
When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
The data collected on the Website is intended for the processing of orders and communication with customers, processing of requests for information and possible complaints, statistical analysis, as well as their use for the purposes of direct marketing.
Your personal data may be used to provide important information on the services you've subscribed, including updates and notifications.
In addition, with your consent, we may send you emails about CORKBRICK.


When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
The customer expressly authorises CORKBRICK to send information about our store, business information on products and services from CORKBRICK, through any communication channel, namely through the use of email and SMS.
With your consent, the personal data you provide will be shared with third parties responsible for handling it and other third party service providers that are CORKBRICK’s partners.

CORKBRICK may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if, in good faith, it believes that this is necessary for:

  2. protecting and defending its rights, as if you violate our Terms and Conditions of Access, Use and Contract through the Website;
  3. acting in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of its employees or co-workers, service users, partners or members of the public.


Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. It provides us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. It stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
With regard to payments, if you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

CORKBRICK may hire other companies to provide services on behalf of CORKBRICK, for example, website hosting, email, replying to users’ questions about services, sending information on new services and products, special offers.
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

Once you leave our Website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our Website’s Terms and Conditions of Access, Use and Contract. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.


CORKBRICK protects your personal information, by taking reasonable precautions and by following industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. However, we inform you that the collection in open network allows the circulation of personal data without security conditions, at the risk of being seen and used by unauthorized third parties.
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.


Here is a list of cookies that we use. We’ve listed them here so you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not.

  1. _session_id, unique token, sessional, Allows Shopify to store information about your session (referrer, landing page, etc).
  2. _shopify_visit, no data held, Persistent for 30 minutes from the last visit, Used by our Website provider’s internal stats tracker to record the number of visits
  3. _shopify_uniq, no data held, expires midnight (relative to the visitor) of the next day, Counts the number of visits to our store by a single customer.
  4. cart, unique token, persistent for 2 weeks, Stores information about the contents of your cart.
  5. _secure_session_id, unique token, sessional
  6. storefront_digest, unique token, indefinite, As the shop has a password, this is used to determine if the current visitor has access.


We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the Website. The date of the last update will always be announced at the beginning of this document.
If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
